Research, Design & Innovation Projects
Care-Oriented AI: Aligning Design and Purpose
Personal Poject. I research AI conversational systems, examining how design shapes vulnerability, autonomy, wellbeing, and emotional support in vulnerable communities. Methods include analytic autoethnography, walkthrough analysis, digital ethnography, design analysis, and situated research. I also collaborate with international research teams on AI in education and the arts when these projects share a critical, care-centred approach that fosters cognitive, creative, and research autonomy, as well as ethical principles for AI use.
Aprendiz - educación
A research-based, technology-driven social enterprise focused on care, inclusion, and digital learning. Its work brings together neurodiversity, disability, caregiving, AI literacy, and media literacy through an interdisciplinary network of shared knowledge. The initiative promotes scientific and ethical understanding while creating space for the situated expertise of neurodivergent and disabled people, caregivers, and other underrepresented communities.
Technology and Pedagogical Design for Learning, Literacies, Inclusion, and Culture
I design alternate reality games, transmedia learning experiences, and educational technologies that support learning, participation, and inclusion among children, young people, and autistic individuals with high support needs. I have authored two books on these topics, as well as several single-authored and collaborative articles. I am also a co-author of the educational technology platform Aprendiz. Our collaborative alternate reality game project, Yo amo leer, received two institutional grants and was shortlisted in the Curiosity category of the Reimagine Education Awards.
Linguistic Cartographies of Fear: A Neurohumanities Perspective
Co-Investigator | CONAHCYT-funded project, Science at the Frontier Program, Mexico. Integrated qualitative and computational methods to study the visual and linguistic expression of fear on digital platforms, contributing interdisciplinary approaches that combined cultural analytics, visual studies, research-creation, and ethnography for the analysis of cultural datasets.
Transmedia Literacy
As a junior researcher in this international, EU-funded collaborative project, I contributed to the methodological development and testing conducted in Barcelona, the project’s original pilot case and the first of eight case studies. The project examined transmedia competencies and informal learning practices to inform and improve formal education.
